Emily's 7th Birthday!

Today we celebrated Emily's 7th Birthday at Girly Girl in Downtown McKinney. It was the perfect place to celebrate her big day... sooo cute!
First, the girls got to choose their fashionable outfits... most wanted to be Rock Star Divas but there were also a few Princesses! Then, they got to have their hair, make-up and nails done.

Megan got dressed up but wasn't too keen on the idea of primping... not so unusual for her.
They all got to strut their stuff on the cat walk and 'strike a pose'.
It was such a great group of little gals... oops, I mean Rock Stars and Princesses!
Time to blow out the candles and enjoy some yummy cake! We actually purchased the cake from The Cake Stand (also in downtown McKinney) and it just happened to match the decor perfectly!
We were having so much fun at the party that she had no time to open her gifts. We got to bring them home and continue the fun!

She received so many cute crafty gifts... which is right up her alley! One of the many favorites was a Trendy Tees Kit... all the supplies needed to decorate a t-shirt with metal studs and rhinestones... which she had to try out immediately!
It turned out really cute and she can't wait to wear it to school tomorrow!

Fort Worth Zoo

The girls and I, along with Aunt Sissy, took advantage of the day off from school and spent it at the zoo! It was perfect... perfect weather, perfect crowd, and all the animals were out basking in the sun so we could easily get a glimpse of them... even the cheetah, which is normally hiding in the cool shade of the bamboo!
The best part of the day, for both girls, was the train ride!

The kangaroo was one of every one's faves!

I believe this is the first time we've seen a male and female lion in the same living space... mating season perhaps? :) Making wishes...

Awwwe... look at the baby!
Feeding the parakeets.

How wide is my wing span?
Megan couldn't wait to see the giraffes... she talked about them all morning. We normally see them at the end of the day but today we changed up our pattern to hush her! :)

High School Musical on Ice

Granmama and I took the girls to see High School Musical on Ice and we all really enjoyed the show.

The characters were of course played by different people but the girls were still a little starstruck!

The never ending snow cone... Emily was still working on this thing 2 hours later!

My New Cleaning Gals

I hired a couple new cleaning gals...
I highly recommend them...
They are very thorough...
and very reasonably priced...
It's amazing what they'll do for ice cream!

Hoppy Easter!

We had a really nice Easter Sunday and because it was a bit cold and cloudy the girls got to wear jeans instead of the sun dress I bought for them... they were thrilled to not have to wear a dress. We spent the morning at home and later had a yummy Easter Lunch at Granmama and Daddy D's House.
We dyed our eggs the afternoon before... and added glitter to them too!

Hunting for eggs!
How much money is in this one?!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Today was St. Patty's Day, but also the first day of our Spring Break! The girls and I went out to lunch, shopped for summer clothes and saw Horton Hears a Who (which was really cute by the way). We also made some green snickerdoodles... from scratch!

Megan was in charge of cleaning the dishes...
Are they done yet?
