Fossil Rim

The girls and I, along with Grandpa, Grandma and Aunt Sissy (my dad, mom and sister) took a little trip down to Glen Rose to visit the animals at Fossil Rim!
The ostriches were awesome!! They were a little too aggressive for the girls to feed, so Aunt Sissy and I got to feed them! He even tried to eat a couple cameras! haha
It was so much fun! The weather could not have been more perfect! Everyone but me had been there before so they knew the best way to experience it... we set up chairs in the back of Grandpa's truck and he drove us around... it was so fun and were were able to easily feed the animals from the back of the truck!
The girls and Grandma. At least I think that's Grandma... can't be sure who's behind that hair! hehe

Me and the girls
Emily isn't much of an animal lover so when the animals got close to the truck she moved to the other side. Megan was happy to get somewhat close to them though.

The zebras were super friendly... Megan wasn't too sure what to think of this.

I wanted my picture taken with the zebras. While I was trying to pose next to this one he started sniffing my elbow... guess he likes the smell of my sun screen! hehe
"Cheese!" Thanks for taking the picture Amy!
Awwe... a little baby zebra. :)
The girls and Grandpa
Yeah!! More zebras!!
Emily feeling very free... since there are no animals around!
What are you lookin' at??

Frisco Race for Relief 5k

A year ago I had worked up to running 5-6 miles, but like they always say "use it or lose it"! I have a hip issue and took some time off... and completely "LOST IT"! To motivate me I took a class at Run On twice a week for the past 6 weeks. At the end of the 6 weeks we ran a 5k together. 2 of the gals were unable to participate but it was still a fun morning... as far as getting up early and running goes! ;)
Pre-Race
This was just after the 3 mile marker.... almost finished!
and this was Post-Race. :)

Happy Easter

On Easter morning the girls got up to see what the Easter Bunny left them. The girls were too busy "helping" Granmama and Daddy D pack the day before that we didn't have time to dye eggs so we didn't do our normal egg hunt... but that's okay... it will be still be fun to dye eggs in a couple weeks! hehe
The girls and I went to the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens that morning with my mom and sister, and later that afternoon we went to Meme's house to have lunch and an egg hung with the rest of the family. We were somehow able to get all the kiddos together with Meme and get this pic!

Flutterbies!

Easter morning the girls and I, along with my mom and sister, made a trip to Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens to visit the Butterfly exhibit.
The girls and Grandma It was really hot and humid, but also fun to walk around while butterflies were flying all over the place. With so many butterflies whizzing by our heads, it did take the girls a couple minutes to get used to it and not jump or be afraid of them.

Emily's 3rd Grade Music Program

The 3rd Graders performed a really cute music program based on the book The Quiltmakers Gift! All of the students got a chance to play an instrument at least once during the program. While groups of the kids rotated playing instruments, the other kids sang and performed the play. They did a great job! I didn't get too many picture because Wayne was out of town and I spent most of my time with the video camera so he could watch the show when he returned home.

Emily and Cate Granmama and Daddy D came out to see the show as well!

After the program, Emily chose where we went out to dinner to celebrate the special night.

We went to Pei Wei, but of course had to make a stop before hand at McDonald's for Megan! haha

Ice Skating!

The girls and I are all taking ice skating lessons! We are all having a blast and look forward to our Monday night lessons!

GO TIGERS!!!

Megan was on the Rangers last season, but this season we wanted to be on the Tigers because we had a few friends signing up and wanted a better chance to be on the same team as them. On the Rangers Megan was the only girl on the team... on the Tigers there are 4 little girls! It's a great team... we are really enjoying being a part of the Tigers!
Warming up before the first game of the season!

This is her first season for coach-pitch! They each get 3 tries hitting the coach-pitched ball and if they don't get a bat on either of those they get to hit off the tee.
