Great Wolf Lodge

Emily and I, along with our great friends Katrena and Tyler, spent a couple days at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine. It was a really cool hotel with both an indoor and outdoor water park. We left Megan with Granmamma and Daddy D because we were informed by friends that had been before that it was a difficult place to keep up with 2 kids of different swimming levels. I was sad that Megan could not join in the fun, but I also really enjoyed spending the one-on-one time with Emily... it's been a while since we've been able to do this.
Katrena and Tyler
We started the day off slow on the "baby slides" then we progressed to the much larger, faster slides that required inner tubes! Emily was barely tall enough to ride these so I wasn't sure if they would scare her... lucky for me they did not and we all had a blast on them!

When we were feeling a bit waterlogged, the hotel had other activities to enjoy, such as Build-A-Bear... Emily made a wolf for Megan! The kids got an airbrushed tattoo, they got to "build" their own pair of Crocs and we played a scavenger hunt game with sorcerer wands throughout the hotel. Sadly, I have no pictures to share of these activities... my camera battery died. :(
At night, we retired to our cool "cabin" hotel room. The kids had a separate "tent" area with bunk beds. This was the first time Emily had eve slept in a bunk bed and she was anticipating doing this several days before.

Circus

Wayne and I took the girls to the circus today! They claim to be "The Greatest Show On Earth". Hmmm... I just saw John Mayer live two nights ago and I have to say that's a pretty bold statement for them to be making! (hee hee) Nonetheless, it was alot of fun to spend the day as a family!

Here Kitty-Kitty!
After a few more yoga classes this shouldn't be too difficult... right???
Elephants are always fun to see!
Our cute little clowns!

JOHN MAYER!!!

Last night was definitely one of the greatest nights of my life! Anyone that knows me, also knows John Mayer is the only man I love more than my husband! This year, I had 5th row tickets on the left side of the stage. I was so incredibly excited and grateful to again experience the talents of (in my opinion) the greatest guitarist and musician of our generation!
I have 3 faves that I hoped he would perform... Covered in Rain, Good Love is on the Way, and In Repair. He performed none of these last year but last night he did perform Good Love is on the Way! It was a little overwhelming for me to hear live!
He was really on his game last night! The music was just as fabulous as last year, but this year he seemed to enjoy it more and was much more personable. He smiled a ton and spoke to us alot about things like... leaving our troubles in life outside these walls and just living for the moment and in the music for the next 2 hours. He also spoke about how he has never been influenced by drugs (not as a teenager or an adult musician)... he believes it is because he was influenced by great artist and great music his entire life... mostly SRV... these influences kept him grounded... and in being grounded came the lyrics for Gravity. I found a great video clip of this at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbOKJWLUhoc
He thanked the audience over and over... and his appreciation actually felt pretty sincere.
My video clips were too large to post on this blog so I uploaded them to YouTube. They are not that great but if you want to take a peek, here are the links...
He ended the show with Gravity... AMAZING! Here is a great video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJqIuLGj5T8&NR=1

"Keep me where the light is..."
Every time he looked in our direction, I completely freaked out and snapped a picture without waiting for the camera to focus. :(

I didn't have my blog last summer so I also added some pics that I took at last year's concert. I was 8 rows back on the right side of the stage.
Gosh, I miss that hair! :(
